We had already started working through the process of purchasing the property until the initial property inspection failed to meet the Veteran's Administration and the owner failed to do the repairs to bring it up to standards.. We passed on this deal, but less than 5 months later, we found the property we are now residing in and Marc again came to our assistance with the purchase.. The communication between Marc and myself was top notch and the process in which we were able to close the house sale was extremely fast.. I talked to several other people who were in the process of purchasing a home here on island and they were still midway through their application process with other mortgage companies while we were moving in.. "The initial mortgage application process started very smooth and impressive. Then during the loan approval process, the interest rate and discount points for loan closing kept getting higher on the estimated disclosure agreement summary form. Interest Rate started at 2.75% with Discount Points at 2.0. By the time I finally completed the settlement documents about a month later, my final interest rate was 4.25% and 3.75 with the discount points. More than likely I will be shopping elsewhere after the required 11 month period has been completed."
